
Alfred Henry Ackley was born January 21, 1887, at Spring Hill Pennsylvania. He died July 3, 1960, at Whittier, California.
Ackley received musical training from his father in New York City and at the Royal Academy of music in London, and became a great cello player. He was ordained in 1914. For a few years Alfred worked with evangelist Billy Sunday. He wrote some 1,500 songs in his life.
