Thomas Augustus Arne was born in London, England on March 12, 1710; he died in London, on March 5, 1778.
He was educated at Eton and after completing law course; he did what his father wanted him to do and started working on music.
He composed two oratorios, thirteen masques and operas. He was considered to be England’s best Composer of the eighteenth century.
His sister, Mrs. Susanna Cibber, was an outstanding singer for whom Handel wrote the contralto solos in Messiah.
