Winfield Scott Weeden was born on March 29, 1847, in Middleport, Ohio.
He taught for several years in singing schools. He was an effective song leader and gifted vocalist.
When Judson W. Van de Venter entered evangelistic work, Winfield Weeden was the long-time associate and assistant.
He compiled several collections of songs including: The Peacemaker in 1894, Songs of the Peacemaker in 1895, and Songs of Sovereign Grace in 1897.
Winfeld S. Weeden died on July 31, 1908, in Bisby Lake, New York. His tombstone has “I Surrender All” inscribed on it.
