This poem was written in October 1877, and is based on I Chronicles 12:1-18, where it lists the mighty soldiers that joined King David to war against the enemies. It was originally titled, “Home Missions,” but was later published by the author in 1878 under the title, “Who Is on the Lord’s Side?”
